Call for Student Volunteers

Division 32 is seeking student volunteers to support the upcoming MidWinter Conference

Volunteering is a meaningful way to engage with the conference community, attend sessions aligned with your interests, and offset part of your registration cost.

Important Registration Requirement
All student volunteers must register for the conference by the Early Bird deadline of January 16th to be eligible to volunteer.

Volunteer Reimbursement
Student volunteers are eligible for partial reimbursement of conference registration fees at a rate of $25 per worked hour, for up to 5 worked hours (maximum reimbursement of $125). Reimbursements are processed following the conference.

Volunteer Roles

Following are the volunteer roles and responsibilities:

CE Presentation Monitors
Monitor CE sessions, including scanning attendees in and out of presentations

Registration Table Support
Check attendees in, distribute badges, assist with onsite registration, answer attendee questions, assist attendees with the conference app

Event Setup & Cleanup
Assist with conference events such as the community dinner, poster session, and student luncheon

On-Call Floaters
Provide support as needs arise throughout the conference.
*Note: Because floaters are on-call, 4 on-call hours are considered equal to 1 worked hour. Floaters must remain on-site and accessible by phone/text during their on-call hours in case assistance is needed.

Flexible & Interest-Aligned Scheduling
Volunteers will select the sessions and activities in which they would like to volunteer, allowing autonomy over their schedule. Many volunteers choose to serve as CE monitors for presentations they already planned to attend, earning worked hours while participating in sessions of interest simultaneously.

Volunteer Expectations

  • Volunteers are expected to arrive at their assigned volunteer sessions at least 5 minutes early.

  • Volunteers must complete all required trainings outlined below.

Training Requirements

  • Virtual Volunteer Training (Early March):
This training will cover volunteer expectations, use of the conference tracker app, CE tracking technology, and other essential conference information.

  • On-Site Training:
This training will include a conference tracker app refresher, managing on-site registrations, and badge printing procedures.

Next Steps
If you are interested in being a student volunteer:

  1. Complete the volunteer interest form linked below, and
